This morning our Connecticut Cousins left for the rest of their summer travels. We were sad to see them go and will miss getting into mischief with them.
The rest of our day was filled with more Canadiana...
To begin with, we stopped at the local Tim Hortons and bought a box of 40 Timbits for a snack on our way back into downtown Toronto.
Our stop in Toronto…
The Hockey Hall of Fame!
The kids were so excited! We spent a few hours wandering around all the exhibits and taking lots of photographs. Jasmin, Alia and Ben tried their hands at simulated hockey games – Jasmin and Ben taking shots on net and Alia as a goalie (of course). Jasmin scored 1 goal on her simulation goalie, Alia saved all but one, and Ben’s opposition got a Shut Out.
The highlight was the actual Stanley Cup, which they were able to stand next to and even touch.
For lunch, we walked to the St. Lawrence Market to meet Mark and Irene. Everyone ate Canadian Bacon sandwiches (more Canadiana).
After lunch, we headed BACK to the Hockey Hall of Fame... because we couldn’t get enough!
After we finally exhausted the kids' obsession for hockey (well, at least they let us drag them away), we headed to our annual California guests’ (John, Lu & Bella) house for fun, food… and more food!!
The kids had a great time running around with Bella while we were able to catch up a bit with John and Lu. Alas another short, but sweet visit.
